Does Trupanion cover wellness care costs?
Some pet insurance providers offer wellness care coverage, but this often means that bigger ticket items like accidents and chronic illnesses don’t get the coverage they deserve. With us, we want to make sure you get the most out of your pet’s policy, and we don't feel we should charge you extra for things that you can anticipate and plan for as part of your pet’s routine healthcare.
Good pet insurance coverage is all about making sure you can handle unexpected veterinary costs as they arise. By not relying on your policy to cover things you can already plan and budget for and instead focusing on coverage for things like accidents and surprise illnesses, you can get the most value out of your pet insurance coverage.
What about exam fees?
Why pay a middle man to handle your pet’s regular care costs when they are something you actually can plan and budget for? This is why we at Trupanion have made a deliberate choice not to cover wellness and preventive care or exam fees. By not doing so, we can ensure you get the most value out of your coverage.
